NEXUS-NESS recognizes the importance of capacity building and international cooperation to mainstream sustainable and resilient WEFE Nexus practices across the EuroMedwith specific focus on EU-MENA countries.
During the Coordinamento Universitario per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (CUCS) Conference 2024 held at the Università degli Studi di Firenze, the session titled “Barriers to and Practical Implications of Managing the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus,” were organized by the NEXUS–NESS project team.
WEFE Nexus case studies
WEFE Nexus challenges were analysed through case studies in India, Zambia, Jordan, Italy, Brazil, Kenya, Malawi, and Tunisia. These studies highlighted the unique barriers each region faces and the tailored approaches needed to promote sustainable development in water, energy, food, and ecosystem management.
