On January 31st, 2023 the NEXUS-NESS coordinator prof. Fernando Nardi was invited as a speaker in representation of NEXUS-NESS Project at the webinar “Nexus research for improved policy support: water scarcity in Europe”.

This Webinar offered a platform to share advancements from Nexus research and support the ongoing policy processes surrounding this topic – via the following objectives:

  • To update participants about ongoing European Nexus research and clarify the main policy-relevant questions addressed.
  • To inform participants about the findings of the work and test the feedback to policy at regional, national and European levels, with water scarcity as the core topic.
  • To identify the potential benefits of integrated approaches adopting the nexus concept and how the research could support the policy process.
  • To create a platform for networking among providers and users of knowledge.

The target audience of the Webinar included knowledge partners and representatives from policy and government and provides a forum for nine ongoing projects from H2020, Horizon Europe, and PRIMA to share their progress. The European Commission (DG ENV) will participate in the event to discuss the core topic of water scarcity.

Many other representative from PRIMA funded project on Nexus topic has been invited to share experiences, methodologies and tools to face the water scarcity in Europe.
