On April 23rd, 2022 NEXUS-NESS consortium participated in the CUCS Conference (in Italian: Coordinamento Universitario per la Cooperazione e lo Sviluppo) held in Naples (Italy) presenting three accepted abstract:
- Transition management towards Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus through Responsible Research and Innovation. Preliminary results from four Mediterranean countries by Xenia Schneider (XPRO Consulting Limited), Leonor Rodriguez Sinobas (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Rudy Rossetto (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna), Mohammed Bahnassy (Alexandria University), Fethi Abdelli (Institut Régions Arides de Médenine), Salah Mhemdi (Commissariat Régional au Développement Agricole de Gabès)
- Methods and indicators for the operationalization of the Water-Eenergy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus in the Mediterranean with a focus on policy by Enrico Lucca, Jerome El Jeitany, Giulio Castelli, Tommaso Pacetti, Elena Bresci and Enrica Caporali from University of Florence
- Fostering Euro-Mediterranean international cooperation to mainstream WEFE Nexus approaches: insights from the Italian, Spanish, Tunisian and Egyptian Nexus Ecosystem Labs of the PRIMA-funded NEXUS-NESS project by Fernando Nardi and NEXUS-NESS consortium.
This Conference originated from the academic world, and addressed all the actors of international cooperation, with a particular attention to young people and students. It aimed at promoting the construction of networks, mutual exchanges, the synthesis of experiences and concepts, developing innovation, and disseminating knowledge through the mechanisms and procedures of Open Science facing challenges related sustainability, food production, land resources and health that affect North and South of the World in the pandemic and post-pandemic eras.
